From television to feature-length stories
The gang’s adventures continued beyond its original 30 episodes through a 1988 television film and two later theatrical projects.
These productions are separate from the 1961 television series. The supplied images below depict the later movies rather than the classic Hanna-Barbera episodes.
Three movies to know
TV FILM
Top Cat and the Beverly Hills Cats
A Hanna-Barbera television film that sends the gang into a fortune-and-inheritance caper. Its premise inspired the 1990 videogame.
The film is an especially useful bridge to Top Cat Starring in Beverly Hills Cats (1990).

Top Cat: The Movie
A theatrical revival produced in Mexico that reintroduces the alley gang in an updated visual style.
The 2011 production later reached other countries with different release schedules. Its promotional imagery is used for parts of this demo archive.

Top Cat Begins
A computer-animated prequel exploring how Top Cat and his companions came together. Released in Mexico in 2015 and in some other markets in 2016.
Prequel content shows an origin story rather than a direct continuation of the 1961 broadcast order.

How the films connect to the games
The 1988 Beverly Hills Cats plot has a particularly direct connection to the 1990 top-down adventure. Later feature films also helped keep the franchise visible to new audiences.
